I have had this head lamp by coast for almost 2 years now. It has held up well through some of the toughest environments possible. Extreme heat, cold, snow, wind, and rain. This head lamp has not let me down. It has a focusable light for wide spread light or a more narrow beam for greater distance. The lights brightness can also be adjusted by a lever on the battery pack on the back of the head band. This head lamp is perfect for any type of application where a flash light is needed and provides great convenience by allowing the user to go hands free and have light where ever they look. My favorite feature of the head lamp is the battery pack wire, it plugs in to the wire that goes to the lamp it�s self. I work in a very rough environment so this feature acts as a break away. If the head band gets snagged on something it protects the wire from being broken like other head lamps or there. This head lamp all and all is the best head lamp I have ever owned and gets a 5 star rating.

Excellent product, but it lost a star do to the position of the battery pack. The pack is on the side of your head instead of the back. This leads you to accidentally readjusting your intensity switch. Not enough slack wire to readjust to the back.

Seems to be good quality. Had this for a few months now and use it every day. I think I miss read this and believe its for use on a hard hat. I use it on my head directly and the battery pack is a little heavy without the supporting ring of the hard hat holding it up. Once i adjusted the head strap a little it made a better fit, and also learned the best place to seat it on my head. I like the adjustable brightness and beam focus as well.

I love this light! I had been searching for a headlamp that is reliable and works well for climbing and trail finding at night, as well as general camping. This is it! I like the spotlight feature, you are able to adjust the focus of the light, as well as the intensity, which makes it a multi-purpose headlamp. I live in a dry environment so this has not been tested with rainy/wet weather. The battery pack is a bit bulky for me, but barring from messing up my long hair or the occasional bun, the bulkiness is negligible. I do recommend this product.

Full dislosure, havent used this for an extended period of time yet so I dont know about its long term reliability. What I can say is that I like it so far and having anseparate battery pack on the back is unique, but makes it feel balanced. I have had bad luck with headlamps that stop working on me. My black diamond revolt died. And so did my petzyl tikka XP 2. So far I like this one but if it craps out, I will revise my review.

Surprisingly powerful. Most of these things are way overrated for the lumens they�re putting out but this seems pretty accurate.

The big dial lets me switch from flood to spot. The lever in back (not completely intuitive, but serviceable) lets me set adjustable brightness. The big orange button is on/off. Uses AAA batteries, and the top setting is very bright. The light is hinged on the bottom to give adjustable tilt, and it works well. I keep this in my first aid kit so that I can use both hands. If I had to change a tire at night, this would be just about the perfect flashlight. I use it with EverReady lithium batteries that survive freezing temperatures and usually don't leak. This model is simpler than many other headlamps because it does not have a red LED for night vision, and does not have any blinking mode.

Best headlamp I have ever used! You cannot beat the price per lumen on this headlamp. The only downside is that the elastic head strap tends to pop off of the battery pack...a very minor issue and most likely unavoidable.

I bought a HL7 for doing electrical work in darkened crawl spaces etc. It gives a good even light spread on wide angle. But it does seem to consume batteries quickly.

You get to adjust the brightness and the angle on the light, also it goes from a wide to a narrow focus, it is very comfortable compare to others, it does not feel hot on your head, I use it to work, 8-10 hours a day, 3 AAA batt. I had one before this one it last me years before the band was worn out, the switch was worn out from use, and still the light is working, it is in a drawer as emergency back up, just in case.

This is a very good headlamp - I use it for fieldwork and camping constantly, I like the adjustable widenesss and intensity. My one gripe with the headlamp is that there is a little connector in the wire between the battery pack and the light. It does not stay in particularly securely, which would not be a problem as it is easily put back most of the time. However, the pins are really small, and when I've been trying to reconnect it at night (without a light, of course), I've bent them and had to fix them with needlenosed pliers when I got home. The connector has only one right way to go in, but the tab is really small and hard to find and line up in the dark, hence the misaligned pins. If they fixed that, I'd recommend it wholeheartedly; I guess I'd just recommend you tape the connector together (as I did).

Very handy to use and as bright as you need with the adjustable beam. My only complaint is that the battery box doesn't stay secured on the headband as designed. Several times while working it fell off and was dangling by the cord. This was without bumping the light on anything so I'm not sure the cause. Otherwise it seems like a very good work lamp to keep your hands free.

You can pay more for a bigger, brighter light, but then you also have a heavier light with a strap across the top of your head. This little guy kicks out some serious lumens, and my favorite part is that the light is evenly spread across a wide circle (when zoomed out). I use this light for camping, working outside past dark, working under the house, doing electrical work with the light circuits switched off, and tons more. It's my favorite portable light source by far.

I have an earlier version of this headlamp. Still works great. The elastic strap has no more adjustment left. It�s a bit stretched out after years of use. Tired of it hanging in my face, I needed to get a new headlamp. This one is great too. I really like the ability to go from zero to max lumens using the dimming lever on the battery pack. That said, 6 months later, one side of the hinge that allows the light to incrementally point down has broken. I�ll probably try something to see if I can get the hinge to work better. Still gonna use it. The strap keeps the light on my forehead where it belongs. Gotta love that.

I have 4 different headlights (streamlight/quantum/Petzel) on my bench right now, this one is the one I use most. It is the lightest, runs on AAA batteries which are light, is very bright and can easily be continuously adjusted for both power and beam focus, . It does not have a top strap, but I have not found this to be an issue in any way, and it has never fallen off. I just got back from elk hunting and used this light in cold weather for a week and never had to replace the batteries. Some of my other devices where dying quickly.
